Goodiya, which translates to doll in Hindi, is often used as a word of endearment for a little girl or a grown-up daughter.
There is something deeply ironic about this word. We grow up revering women as goddesses, celebrating the divine feminine and placing women on pedestals — yet that reverence so often fails to translate into how women and girls are treated in everyday life.
Across the world, women continue to face discrimination, inequality and violence simply because they are women.
From gender pay gaps and limited opportunities to domestic violence, sexual harassment, child marriage, dowry-related violence, trafficking and female foeticide, these issues may take different forms, but many are rooted in the same underlying problem: how societies value, perceive and treat women.
Violence against women is one of the most devastating manifestations of this inequality. It can be physical, sexual, emotional or psychological, and is often used as a means of control and subjugation.
Behind every statistic, however, is a woman — a life, an experience, a story and a voice.
Today, nearly one in three women worldwide has experienced physical or sexual violence in her lifetime. But statistics can make suffering feel distant.
Behind every number is a woman whose story deserves to be heard.

Goodiya was born from a simple belief:
Change begins with the way we think, the stories we tell, and the voices we choose to hear.
Gender bias is not confined to one community, one social class or one level of education. It exists across societies and generations, often so deeply embedded in our everyday thinking that we no longer recognise it.
Laws and policies are essential. But lasting change cannot come from legislation alone.
It begins with mindset—with what we teach our children, what we accept as normal, whose voices we listen to, and the expectations we place on girls and boys from an early age.
Goodiya seeks to create awareness around gender, challenge the beliefs and biases that limit women and girls, and create conversations that encourage greater equality, empathy and understanding.
At its heart, Goodiya is a platform for women to speak, to be heard and to own their stories. Because when a woman tells her story, she challenges silence, creates awareness and gives others the courage to speak.
But a voice needs more than a platform. It needs opportunity.
That is why the Goodiya Project has two interconnected wings.

The non-profit arm creates a platform for women and girls to share their voices, experiences, stories, perspectives and aspirations. Through storytelling, conversations, creative initiatives and community engagement, it seeks to create greater visibility, awareness, connection and solidarity around the experiences of women and girls.
her future
The for-profit arm is a social enterprise built around the belief that business can be a force for social change. A portion of its profits will be directed towards initiatives that empower and educate women and girls, creating access to opportunities that can help them build more independent and equitable futures.

Because one voice can change a perspective. One story can change a conversation. And a conversation can change what comes next.
But change doesn’t begin with women alone. It begins with the generation growing up alongside them. Through engaging girls and boys, Goodiya aims to challenge gender bias early and nurture a deeper understanding of equality, respect, empathy and opportunity.

It is a space to be heard. A space to be seen. A space to question what has always been — and imagine what could be.
Because when women speak, the world has a chance to listen differently, think differently and shape a more equal future.

The for-profit arm of the Goodiya Project brings the spirit and creative expression of Goodiya to life through a thoughtfully curated collection of uniquely designed and purposefully chosen products.
The collection features original designs inspired by the work of artist Anjlie Vellodi and her art series, the goodiya series, which explores the experiences, identity and spirit of the girl child and woman.
Rooted in themes of identity, strength, femininity and possibility, the Goodiya Collection seeks to transform everyday products into meaningful expressions of who women are, what they stand for and what they can become.
But the collection exists for more than commerce. A portion of the profits generated through the for-profit arm will be channelled towards initiatives that support the empowerment and education of women and girls — creating a direct connection between what Goodiya creates and the change it seeks to create.
